Info on my Dad Harry B. Dulmage
Here is some information on my Dad Harry B. Dulmage
Instructor at no 1 wireless school during WW2.
Design engineer for Avro Arrow Radio Set working at Collins Radio of Canada.
Also involved in design of Voodoo fighter jets "gas can radio" and ARC552.
Took aircraft radio from nine channels to many channels using crystal beating. Truly a radio design pioneer. Collins Radio Employees group had a list of his design accomplishments at his funeral some many many years after he had worked there. My brother still has that.
Dad was a graduate of RCC and after the war U of T (engineering) .
Born in Picton Ont and went to PECI high school.

Note from the webmaster: I am quite familiar with the AN/ARC 552 VHF/UHF transceiver designed by Harry Dulmage. It was designed for use onboard aircrafts but it was also ideal for use in submarines due to limited space onboard. The 552 was the main VHF/UHF transceiver used onboard the Canadian Oberon submarines during the cold war. Click here to go to the equipment page on my submarine website and scroll down the page to find the 552.
